about
A collective of exceptional young artists looking for new ways in classical music – experimental, authentic, captivating and personal.
who we are
resonart is a collective of around 25 selected professional musicians. Since 2015, they have been surprising and inspiring their audiences with innovative and interdisciplinary projects under the direction of Jonas Bürgin.
The performance of the resonart camerata inspires with power and expression. The young ensemble stands for new, interdisciplinary concert formats and a gripping and authentic concert experience.
The artists impress with their outstanding musical qualities, curiosity and self-reflection. The fusion of these characteristics leads to exciting and innovative concert programs and inspiring interpretations. This includes the cultivation of well-known works as well as the rediscovery of forgotten composers. It is also a matter of course for resonart to include other art forms such as dance, theater and literature in the program design.
Living democracy is central to this modern ensemble: the constant exchange on an equal footing shapes ideas, develops the chamber music character and allows deep friendships to develop. In this family atmosphere, like-minded musicians who are committed to new perspectives in classical music find support and inspiration.
The resonart camerata has performed with soloists such as Andreas Janke, Valentine Michaud, Christoph Croisé, Ruven Ruppik and played various world premieres by Swiss composers such as Franz Rechsteiner, Daniel Schnyder, Martin Wettstein. A collaboration between resonart and musicians from the Tonhalle Zurich and the Zurich Opera Orchestra was broadcast by Radio SRF, among others.
more than an orchestra
Not only does the resonart camerata interpret works from the Baroque to the modern era in the traditional sense with great skill and flexibility, they also present interdisciplinary projects that combine acting, poetry, discussions about music and much more. This collective is united by a desire for the unheard of!
resonart lets its members have their say in a variety of formations. This constantly creates new, fruitful collaborations and a greater reach: In addition to the resonart camerata concerts, the artists perform in various small formations under the name resonart chamber artists.
In addition, the new format reTALK presents new perspectives on various topics in a combination of concert and panel discussion.
goals
platform
resonart was founded by young talented people and aims to provide a platform for precisely this target group. With the various ensembles and the democratic structure, resonart creates a wide range of opportunities for the next generation of artists to develop their musicality, repertoire and organizational skills.
Art education
When designing the various concert series, resonart always takes into account little-known and new music. With exciting and diverse concert formats, resonart creates new approaches and thus makes it easier for people to access classical music.
network
resonart is building an international network of successful, young professional musicians who are passionate about taking classical music in new directions, breaking down old structures and inspiring new audiences. Like-minded musicians find support and new inspiration. The central topics include performance practice, interpretation in the present, musicians' health and more.
Emotions
The joy of playing, the authenticity and the enthusiasm of the members are transmitted to the audience and thus give them an extraordinary experience that goes beyond the outstanding musicality of the musicians of resonart.
Interdisciplinarity
Resonart's curiosity, coupled with an enormous passion for classical music, gives rise to projects that overcome genre boundaries. This fosters and promotes interdisciplinary exchange. Collaboration with people from different disciplines creates new concert experiences.
